갤럭시 S23 카메라/갤러리 3월 업데이트 내용을 소개드립니다.
갤러리 사용성 개선을 위해 기능을 추가하였습니다.
보다 빠른 사진 촬영을 위해 AF 컨셉을 변경하였습니다.
또한 멤버스에 남겨주신 피드백을 참고하여 카메라 기능과 화질을 개선하였습니다. 많은 제안주셔서 감사드립니다.
많이 사용해 보시고 궁금한 점 말씀해 주시면 빠르게 답변드리겠습니다.

1. 카메라에서 촬영 직후 처리 중인 사진도 바로 삭제할 수 있도록 갤러리에 기능을 추가했습니다.

2. 보다 빠른 사진 촬영을 위해 사용자가 촬영버튼을 누르면 Focus가 완전히 맞지 않은 상태이더라도 바로 촬영할 수 있도록 AF 컨셉을 변경했습니다.
하지만 기존과 같이 Focus 완료 후 촬영을 원하시면 최신 Camera Assistant에서 설정 변경 부탁드립니다.
※ Camera Assistant > Prioritize focus over speed (초점 우선) On

3. 카메라 Video 모드 > Super Steady On 후 실내 저조도에서 Ultrawide로 촬영 시 선명도/플리커를 개선하고 안내 문구를 추가했습니다.
※ "슈퍼스테디를 잘 찍으려면 빛이 더 필요해요."

4. 후면 Photo 모드에서 촬영 시 간헐적으로 좌측에 녹색 줄이 보이는 현상을 수정했습니다.

5. 후면 동영상에서 자동 FPS Off 설정 후 FHD60으로 촬영 시 손떨림 보정을 개선했습니다.

6. 중저조도에서 고화소 촬영 시 중저조도 하늘에 발생하는 선형태의 밴딩 노이즈를 개선했습니다.
고화소 촬영 시 전체적으로 선명도를 최적화하고 OIS 안정화를 통해 간헐적으로 발생하는 흐려짐 현상을 개선했습니다.

7. Camera Assitant에서 촬영 속도 > 고해상도 > 속도 우선 선택 후 저조도에서 Night Off 후 촬영 시 오동작 수정했습니다.
※ Camera Assistant > 촬영 속도 > 고해상도 > 속도 우선 선택 후 Camera > Night Off 또는 Scene Optimizer Off

8. 3rd Party 영상 통화 종료 후 간헐적으로 얼굴인식이 안되는 현상을 수정했습니다.

9. 그외 여러 경로로 유입된 카메라 동작에 대해 안정성을 개선하였습니다.

This is from sensor & lens characteristics. From that characteristics, you can enjoy like DSLR bokeh effect. For capturing of the near distance object with clear picture of all the area, we recommend use digital zoom to secure proper distance between lens and the object. Thanks.

Regarding S23 Ultra, it's different story. That model has AF function in UW lens, and it automatically changes from Wide to UW lens in near distance, that's why it looks different between S23 Ultra & others. Thanks.

I have the same problem with the S23+ with the 1x Camera and it can also be seen in landscape photos.

This can't be normal!

Others devices i tested it like Oppo Xiaomi and Google dont have this Problem!

Impossible to be a DSLR bokeh effect, as it happens in landscapes and other types of photos, not just close objects.

I know what the bokeh effect is, I am a photographer and I have 2 DSLRs and I know how to work with the depth of field of a lens, the main lens of the S23 and S23+ is having problems, and the most serious thing is that it is not a software problem, but a of hardware.

I would like Samsung to look at us and give us a solution, because we buy top equipment and expect it to match, and it's not the case.

We are waiting for a solution, because if not within the 3 years that it has a warranty, my S23+ goes under warranty as many times as necessary, until Samsung concludes that the lenses are defective.

I don't know how the experts allow such errors...when among the users there are people who are professionally engaged in photography...and they can easily determine that sometimes the problem is with the phone's lens...it's just a software problem and such errors will be discovered. and we pay a lot of money for our premium phones

Could you please look into the fact that 200MPix and 50MPix modes are oversaturated? When I take a regular 12MPix photo, it looks normal given the circumstances. But in both high mp modes, the picture is too saturated and the final picture is too processed. However the clarity in those modes is great.

I would like a "Light painting" photo mode that would allow you to capture light effects, the trails of car headlights or even the effect of moving water without the need for an ND filter.

Other manufacturers offer it in their photo mode like Huawei for example.

A disgrace, the update to the C8 version didn't fix the camera, at least the focus and the quality, see the difference between my old OnePlus 5T and the S23+ after today's update.

Dear Samsung Team, this is what my pictures taken with the S23 after the camera update look like. I have to say that I am very disappointed that this problem is not recognised by Samsung. This has nothing to do with depth of field or bokeh (you can see that the edges are sharp), this is just a the outcome of a very bad lens. The field curvature destroys every photo when the object is too close to the camera (approx until 1m away). Scanning documents is absolutely unusable ...

Dear Samsung Team, we appreciate your work and we buy Samsung phones from many, many years, and we spent consistent money, we were loyal to Samsung because we love your products, but now Samsung must admit that it have a problem with S23/S23+ camera lenses.

It is a premium phone with a premium price, with an advertisement oriented to how good is the camera and how good are the pictures of it. I was never thinking that the reality is not that and i spent my money to buy that phone, and was really disappointed! We cannot buy new phones every day, every month, even every year, so we spend our money to what we think it is the best for us, on long term, and we are thinking now that we were fooled, in a way...

I love that phone, first Samsung phone in Europe with Snapdragon, it works really well, could have been the best model of Samsung until now, but it has major lens/focus/camera problem.

And i (we) want you to know and i (we) really want to ask you to tell to your superiors, managers, executives that we, the owners of S23/S23+ are very dissapointed and sad beacause that problem, and that we ask them to find a solution for us. We are many, the european forums, sites, and not only European, see the articles from well-known mobile specialized sites.

Like other posts say, this is just the outcome of a very bad lens, we are many that we need to take pics of papers, for work, and even some that like to take photos from near the objects, plants, etc. Not to mention that the lines of text are distorted too. The problem is observed when taking pictures of landscapes too. And we cannot step up on a chair to take a photo with 3x camera...
Other brands have phones that dont have that problem, even pictures taken with some cheap phones are much much better that those taken with s23/s23+...

Please take my message in consideration, and the messages of the others, and submit them to your supperiors, please.

I anticipate that the outcome of the comparison is embarrassing!
I fully share the thought of @ geo741, who has done an excellent job by putting together many reports from around the world: the more users we will be to highlight this defect, the greater the chances that Samsung will evaluate a suitable solution for us buyers, deceived by the wicked choice to recycle on S23/S23+ the 50 MP cameras of the S22 series, which Samsung knew were defective.

Thank you for the update, I receive it today :) But there is still problem with too much over sharpening. The photos looks overprocessed in general. I hope next camera update will make them look more natural and detailed, because now the look a kind of flat.

Yes please. Full, official support of Gcam would be much appreciated and could provide users an alternative.  The photos from Gcam are incredible and very good quality compared to Samsung native camera app. So it means hardware is more than capable of capturing great photos.

The S23ultra is the first Samsung phone that I have used since the S2 days. With the online hype and all, I was excited and saved a lot to get this expensive phone.

However, the camera doesn't do the fundamental thing right! This is 2023 and a 1300$ phone churns out blurry mess anytime the object moves before capturing.  This is UNACCEPTABLE! I take a lot moving objects and people and 70% comes out blurry. 

The alleged Nightography churns out the softest images I have ever seen on a flagship in 2022-23. This is really SAD!

I am a diehard Samsung fan since the S2 days, but sometimes I doubt my decisions of not getting an iPhone 14pro max or pixel 7 pro that's way cheaper for the 23Ultra.

I really hope Samsung sit down, optimize this humongous camera hardware and squeeze the best out of it or allow us to use Google camera that takes full advantage of the hardware. 

From a pained and disappointed Samsung fan!

Hello! I cannot believe I actually found the team for the camera app. I almost feel like crying because I thought support didn't exist. I wanted to address my biggest concern with the new Galaxy S23 Ultra. WHERE IS DETAIL ENHANCER!!! we must talk about this because I feel robbed for buying my new S23 Ultra and losing my favorite feature. In 2022 I spent a full year taking photos with and without detail enhancer on the 108mp camera for the S22 Ultra and sometimes detail enhancer can be blurry on edges I would take the shot again and it would be fine BUT it provided more details and colors which I LOVED so much that I was proud of Samsung newest camera feature on my S22 Ultra. I have over 500 photos with the 108mp Detail enhancer taken and I loved those photos with better details. So when the new S23 ultra was announced I was extremely excited to test out 200mp with detail enhancer and do a comparison with the s22 Ultra 108mp Detail enhancer. When I pre-ordered the phone and received it I found it that detail enhancer is MISSING and I felt so sad and disappointed my favorite feature is gone. I've tried everything to see if it's available in camera assistant or an update. I found out the detail enhancer button is disabled on the Galaxy S23 which broke me since I cannot root my device to enable it. I understand the 200mp takes a while to process and having detail enhancer will also make it take longer to process the photo but why won't the team add it back to photo lovers like me that enjoyed that feature. I think implementing the feature back and putting a timer like night mode to hold still will be best option to bring back detail enhancer. Your team doesn't understand that they had an amazing feature I was so proud of Samsung to own in their technology and yes the S22 Ultra 108mp Detail enhancer can sometimes be inconsistent but that didn't stop anyone who knows how to use it to take another picture and see the satisfaction. So I put the camera to the test and did a comparison with S22 Ultra 108mp Detail enhancer vs S23 200mp and the 108mp Detail enhancer has shaper images! This doesn't make sense if 200mp is overall better camera. Please take my words seriously and understand that I don't want Samsung to lose such a feature that strengthen their camera. 10x zoom, 100x zoom, 200mp, 8k 30fps, detail enhancer. These are features Samsung takes pride to make best camera in the world. You guys didn't give up on these other features so don't give up on detail enhancer. Personally if it's brought back to the stock camera app awesome but if needed to move to camera assistant for whatever purpose I understand however I expect a response regarding this. It's killing me to test out 200mp detail enhancer. I need this feature very much. I always talk about detail enhancer on Twitter and even made a reddit post. Please I don't want to lose faith in Samsung technology. This is my only wish and request. My true happiness to Samsung camera.

Dear customer, in GS23, we are supporting only detail ehnancer mode in default, that't why you can't find the menu. In GS23, the processing time is about 6 sec, but it's running fully background. If you directly go to gallery right after taking picture, you can actually view the picture after about 6 sec. Thanks.

Hello, thank you for the response! I understand that it's built into the camera however I don't feel like it's the same detail enhancer when you had it separated as a button for users to turn on and off. I wanted to show you comparison between S22 Ultra 108MP Detail Enhancer vs S23 Ultra 200mp I have a link I would love for your team to examine the difference to see that last year model with detail enhancer still does better job with sharpness and smoothness in some of these scenes for comparison like letters, faces, in general. I will provide you 5 photo examples of each to see if you can compare it with your own eyes and discuss with team on how we can get better detail enhancer built-in like the way the S22 Ultra uses it separately. I hope this helps the team acknowledge detail enhancer more seriously to improve the quality because I cannot sell my S22 Ultra yet if that mode still takes photos better sometimes than my new S23 Ultra 200mp. Thank you team, I cannot wait to hear a response! It's my favorite feature and I want it to become the best highest resolution camera any smartphone ever seen! The best quality!

Thanks for sharing the information. The 2 sensors' characteristics & performances are totally different, even pixel pitches are also different. For the 200MP images, there will be some SW update to give you better image quality. We still diliver exactly same technology of detail enhancer in 200MP also. We will continue to upgrade and provide the better solution to you. Thanks.

Thank you! I also understand that some technology is different from 108mp to 200mp. Sometimes feel 108mp Detail enhancer has some type of "smoothness" compared to the default 200mp having it built-in. I look forward to more upgrades every chance we get to make the 200mp better than old 108mp. Thank you sir! The best team!

When I turn off Auto HDR in camera assistant, the issue goes away. So apparently a problem with HDR.

 I think there is still room for edge detection to improve...because many phones that do not have front autofocus...probably have better software processing than the s23ultra...it is true that they are small...but sometimes they are not natural

Here is a sample photo of my S23 after the camera update. It is taken in bright daylight, absolutely parallel to the surface of the soil. I've taken multiple pictures, in normal mode, pro mode, every single one looks the same. Can someone from Samsung give me advice how to take a simple picture like this without making a handstand and using a different camera?
