Hello Samsung Fam!

Just wondering if anyone uses these Samsung Smarttag or Smarttag+?

I am super curious because I was thinking of importing some and replacing my tiles which are kinda useless 😅

My tiles rarely reports my items being left behind or able to rediscover my lost items.

Hi @VueeyLe
I have a SmartTag + which I purchased from Samsung NZ via 1 if their resellers, Mighty Ape though there is another that ships to Australia.

I went with the + as it has UWB which helps in locating lost items.
Here's some reading from Samsung about the tags and locating them etc:

And the programmable button is a bonus, I have it set to ping my phone if I misplace it.

That's awesome and I've read a lot about the SmartTag+ and it's ability to navigate you to your lost item like the Airtag which is awesome!

How accurate is your SmartTag?
Does it ping and show history location frequently?
Have you tried Tile?

I'm so curious because my Tile is so useless haha

Never used a Tile, have seen and played with the Airtag.
The feature set for the SmartTag's is awesome due to that programmable button it has.
Besides using it to find your phone, it can be used to control other home smart devices.
Smart things currently keeps a 7 day location history.
Accuracy is great so far, particularly with UWB when searching for the tag.

There is frequent pings between devices during the day, though it can vary as to when and how frequent, not sure why.

That's awesome! I hope it works like Apple's Airtag where other Samsung users are able to anonymously help locate my lost item by pinging them when nearby.

Hi @VueeyLe, just adding this as a FYI, SmartTags were not released in Australia so devices you buy online will likely be international models.

Hello Laura,

Thank you for the heads up - I figured that's the case since I couldn't buy it anywhere in Australia 😅

I am just getting tired of my useless Tiles not doing its job and being haha

Samsung has it's own equivalent service called the Galaxy Find Network.

There's info about in the link I originally posted above.

Just the information I was looking for! I'm also looking to replace my tiles as they are absolutely useless and don't alert me till I'm several kilometres away from them. I really love how the apple airtags work and I do have 1 but I can only use it with my iPad 😐

Any feedback on how the Samsung SmartTags have been?

Hey there!

YES, I had the same issues with my tiles, so I ended up giving my set of 10 to my missus to use (have a tracker is better than none).

But after picking up 10 Samsung Tags for all of my Bags and camera equipment. Its been the best investment.
As soon as I am about 3m away from my Wallet Tracker, I get a notification ping instantly saying I left it behind (have to enable this option in SmartThings app).
All of the tracking features are free from Samsung unlike Tile.

One thing I found was the battery life can be a bit luckluster compared to Tile. I manage to kill my Samsung SmartTag+ within 9-10 months compare to Tile which lasted more towards 13-14 months.
But, the AR features and constant pinging for location with out Samsung devices is probably why the battery life didn't quite make it to 12 months. But hey, I prefer slightly less battery life for the ability to find my missing items!

In regard to Firmware / Software, I am constantly getting updates from Samsung which is nice. One thing I wish was better, was the ability to load up my items quicker. When tapping on your tracker on the SmartThings app, it takes about 15-20 seconds to load.
So it can get quite annoying when you are rushing to find things. But its not the end of the world.

Lastly - what combo I suggest for day to day life.
I recommend 2 SmartTags +; 1 for your keys and 1 for your wallet.
For Bags and other accessories, just get the standard SmartTags for tracking. :)

Also stock up on some CR2032 batteries incase any of your tags start dying.

I hope this helps!
