Hi there,

Does anybody know how to allow my 11 year old to be able to send text messages on a Samsung? I created a google account for him and he's not able to send text messages because this message appears: This service is unavailable for Google Workspace for Education users who are under 18 and children under 13.....

Thanks

Sounds like this is a policy enforced by the Dept of Education? Is this a 'managed' device?

An alternative would be if you can, to install a 3rd party messaging app like Whatsapp.

Ask him to check with his mates and older students how they get around it. This is something his age group enjoy busting and who don't tell parents. My son, now much older, and his friends, knew, for instance, how to get around school wi-fi network web site content restrictions.

You can add another user with its own apps. Problem is that you have to switch to this user to see messages, but you can also login to this account on other devices.
