I'm a new Samsung owner coming from Huawei. I have noticed a couple of shortcomings regarding Samsung's UI. One being the dynamic lockscreen wallpapers. I noted on Samsung's website users were able to create their own dynamic lockscreens using 15 videos/photos, this unfortunately appears to have been removed. Huawei does not have a limit to this, I had 600 different wallpapers which made for a truly unique experience everytime I unlocked my phone.

Also the prefixed categories to choose from are severely limited with your choice of nature, cats, dogs, animals, life, plants, art, food, deserts and special (which is just more plants)

These categories are extremely basic and generic and would at least expect a "car or motor" category as many men appreciate mechanical engineering.

This app just needs a lot more categories, features and love.

Maybe more will be added in the One UI 4.0 update?

I don't think so. I've looked into One UI 4 a few times and haven't see anything regarding dynamic lockscreens.

Hi @Ubiquitary, that's strange. Would you be able to confirm the model and software version your device is running?

Hi the article you linked is the one I mentioned. The ability to create your own dynamic lock screen appears to have once existed.

I am using a Z Fold 3 on Android 11 One UI 3.1.1

(Still no android 12, because Australians are last for everything 😊)

I would still like to submit feedback regarding the 15 photo limit which seems extremely low. I would love this to be increased to at least 100.

I just checked this on my S21U & Fold3 and it works.

From the Gallery app, find the video clip you want to use, choose set as wallpaper, it will then ask you if you wish to use the clip for the Lock screen or Call background.

Edit:
I'm also able to select the video from the Wallpaper settings detailed in that link @SamsungLaura posted.

That is not dynamic lockscreen. Dynamic lockscreen allows for up to 15 pictures or videos.

Based on that guide, I was able to select 8 pics, and set them as lock screen wallpaper, the device then brings up a different pic fro that group every time I tap on the screen to wake it, as per the link posted above.

I'm testing this on my Fold3.

I was able to also mix a video and pics
