With the macbook neo being the price, what is the workflow between Android and macOS?

Eg On winslop's link to Windows have been fantastic. KDE connect on Linux distros does the basic file transfer and clipboard share plenty well imo. 

Is the integration between the two really that bad? I don't have experience in that environment.

KDE connect works.
Mtp via usb doesn't work.
Adb scrcpy works.
Everything needs a close and open every day.
