Hi everyone, just wanted to share that Samsung have communicated to The Verge that they will cease advertising in their native apps on their phones this year. It does not go into details on apps, phones, etc... but they do single out some apps like the Weather app and Samsung Pay which was two of my major gripes.🙂
I would not expect all in app adverts to disappear such as the Samsung App store, but this is a good step forward in restoring my confidence in their brand.
While it does not look like Samsung Pay has been updated yet, it does look like they are making good on their promise with adverts no longer showing in my weather app [EDIT] Adverts are showing on my weather app again. So they have not changed anything yet 🙁
I had moved to google pay to get away from their adverts, but if they stay true to their word and do remove adverts I can see myself using Samsung Pay again and consider Samsung for my future phone upgrades.
While I think it should never have happened in the first place, I appreciate Samsung (finally) took this feedback on board and looking to make things right. If this change in advertising policy does come to fruition, then from one Samsung fan, I would just like to say thank you.
Just need to wait and see now....
