Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for people to share their experiences with Asurion in Samsung’s Trade-Up Program — both positive and negative. If you had a smooth process, that’s great to hear. But if you had problems, maybe sharing them here can help get the right attention from Samsung and Asurion.

Here’s my story:
I traded in my Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 (fully working, factory reset). Asurion assessed it as having a “faulty screen” and downgraded the value from $405 to just $40 — or offered me the option to take the device back.

The strange part is, in their own photo of my device:

The screen is clearly functional, past the setup stage.

It’s connected to Wi-Fi (which isn’t possible without using the screen).

I rejected the $40 offer and asked for my device back. At the same time, I escalated:

Posted about it here,

Complained to Samsung directly,

And even tweeted about it.

I don’t know which of those steps worked — but the very next day I got a message that Asurion had agreed to pay the full $405.

So for me, persistence paid off.

Now I’m really curious — what has your experience been like?

Was your device assessed fairly?

Did you get the full value promised?

Or did you have to fight to get it sorted?

Sharing your story (good or bad) could help make this process better for everyone.

Mine went flawless. Sent my S22 Ultra back the same day I got my S25 Ultra. Tracked my S22 Ultra from West to East to check it arrived at Asurion.

Few days later got an email to confirm my phone had arrived in the condition as described and that the Hold would be released.

I checked myed bank account and sure enough there was the money returned.

Hi. Im from sydney. I renewed every year since first flip. Usually 2 months before, I goto samsung tech store to make sure my phone works perfectly and fix if any problems.
Just in case any situation goes wrong with Asurion, I can prove that I have no issues with my phone.
So I never had problems with Asurion and pain back in full everytime. 🙇🏻‍♀️

I just traded in my S24Ultra 5G phone for a S25FE through Consumer Cellular. Asurion gave me estimate of $381. It was in excellent condition, no screen or body damage. It always had a case and a screen protector. Yesterday I got an email saying the amount was only $190 because phone was not in stated condition. That was it, no way to dispute, call or talk to anyone. This is a scam. If I decline do they send my phone back?
