Weather app accuracy

Nice that we got updated weather animations in OneUI 6.0. If only the actual forecasts were more useful. Here are screenshots taken at the same time this morning on my S23 and iPhone. 5 degrees Celsius difference. Samsung Weather uses the Weather Channel as the source and Apple pulls from The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM). Interestingly, the difference in current temperature remained throughout the day (and even increased to 6 degrees). So Samsung weather can't even pull accurate current conditions!?'

Would it be too much to ask to use BOM as the source?

I uninstalled the BOM app and now use Weatherzone. It's better than the BOM in my opinion. I'm in Australia.

Don't expect such things. One cannot expect apple maps to partner with Google for map service. Likewise Samsung cannot guarantee the weather updates they partnered with because it's a third party data.

I think you are missing my point. I am not suggesting that they should guarantee weather updates or, for that matter, data. However, for Australia, it's pretty clear that the BOM is the authority/trusted source for weather data. It certainly appears to be more accurate and relevant for Australia than The Weather Channel. So I am suggesting that Samsung should re-evaluate who they are sourcing data from. I don't think there's anything wrong with the expectation that they get as accurate as possible data. Their competition is certainly on top of it.

Sorry I'm a weather zone user which is developed by B.O.M.
As the weather app that comes with Samsung got annoying haven't used it for about 3 generations of phone's but I did notice that it annoyed me about using it so I installed it on the page I rarely go to and denied it notifications

I agree, no reason why it shouldn't be pulling data from Australia's official source; BOM
