Find My Mobile
My A30 screen has broken and I want my address book back from it so I can load it into a new Samsung or (for the time being) view it on my Mac or iPhone if that is possible.
Using Find My Missing or Broken Mobile, I unlocked and backed up my busted phone to my Samsung Cloud account. Now I want to download that backup into either my Mac, iPhone or an older Samsung phone I have. I have tried this various ways unsuccessfully. Usually the problem is that I am sent a code which I can't get in any other device (including another Samsung phone with the same SIM card in it) and opt for "sending it via email". This of course requires a code to be sent to, you guessed it, my broken and unreadable device!
So here I am stuck in a circular Twilight Zone light technological hell, while my contacts, which I can almost smell behind the smashed screen of my A30 taunt me. (And call me paranoid but I suspect someone in Samsung's cloud services is having a chuckle at my expense as well).
Is there a way to access this cloud back up in a situation where the phone from which it came is kaput? By my understanding this is like a restore from backup, which is the kernel at the centre of the core of the backup paradigm, and quite important.
Thanks in advance for any help or appropriate redirection of my query.
Matthew Y

Find My MobileHi Matthew, I am sorry to hear about the trouble you've gone through to retrieve your data. Just to clarify, you cannot receive the verification code via text despite putting your SIM into an older model? I have a few suggestions that may help:
1. Are you able to access your email from any other devices such as a laptop or PC to complete the two-step verification?
2. Have you tried logging in to your Samsung account on the older device, restoring the cloud backup, and export the contacts to your other devices via Bluetooth or e-mail?
3. Do you receive the verification texts when the SIM is in your other phones?

Find My MobileFirst of all, thank you for your help SamsungLaura (if that is your real name), and it appears to be as sorted as it will ever be now. The problem was quite simply the inexplicable failure for my iPhone with the SIM from the broken phone to receive the various security verifications that Samsung sends out in order that one can progress through the steps on the backup/restore part of the SSC.
It is still a slightly baffling process to restore or download, as the Cloud says I have 6 contact items synced but also that I have zero bytes stored and I can't seem to download anything despite setting the automatic downloads to on. i might try to re back up the samsung phone and see if there is a way to download to a computer as VCF files or something similar.
I am still baffled as to why I didn't receive the notifications one day but did the next, although I guess this could be a server issue, as yesterday it looked there was a dos attack on the site with a 503 error. Anyway if you have any advice as to the way to get the backup downloaded...the cloud says i have downloaded the Gallery, but I can't find it...it certainly isn't in my downloads folder.
THanks
