My auto HDR is turned on, but the camera app doesn't indicate when it's being used. I do notice that there is a higher dynamic range when it is turned on vs off. Is it supposed to be like this? Does your phone do it too?

It's awful. Before I knew that a photo would be good cause the HDR indicator showed up, but now I have to check every photo I take.

Take a photo and close the Gallery and see if the HDR is there

It still processes HDR photos but it won't indicate when it's being used.

Yes, starting One UI 4, the camera app has been simplified and it includes removing the labels like the AutoHDR is being used in the viewfinder. It is completely normal. AutoHDR will still kick-in once it is needed.

Just being honest here, bit that's one of the most pointless feature ever. It didn't simplify the experience, it just made it more complicated and difficult.

Well I also miss the Scene Optimizer icon being there always, but I don't mind the change because I know I turned it on, and that it's still working in the background.
