Samsung has already updated various Galaxy smartphones and tablets to Android 11. After rolling out the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update to the Galaxy A70s earlier today, the company has now released the update to the Galaxy A90 5G.

The Galaxy A90 5G (SM-A908NK) is now getting the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in South Korea. The latest software update, which bears firmware version A908NKOU3DUC3, also brings the March 2021 security patch to the smartphone. It is a major software update, so we advise you to download it using a Wi-Fi network.

Apart from bug fixes and performance improvements, the new update should bring various Android 11 features like chat bubbles, one-time permissions, auto permissions reset, media player widget inside the quick settings panel, a conversations section in the notifications area, and easier access to smart home controls. Since it is the One UI 3.1 update, it should also include refreshed UI design, improved versions of stock apps from Samsung, Dynamic Lock screen and AoD customizations, more lock screen widgets, improvements to Digital Wellbeing and parental controls, video backgrounds for calls, more features in Bixby Routines, and the ability to remove GPS location data from images.

If you are a Galaxy A90 5G user from South Korea, you can check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. We expect the Android 11 update for the Galaxy A90 5G to roll out in other markets over the next few weeks. The smartphone was launched in September 2019 with Android 9, but it received the Android 10 update in early 2020 and the One UI 2.5 update three months ago.
