Galaxy AHello jbmoh,
Thanks for sharing your inquiry here.
Seeing the screen message on display about the detected moisture or foreign material in your charging/USB port may pose a serious issue for your Samsung Galaxy device charging capabilities.
Understand how frustrating it can be when you're trying to fix charging issues on your Samsung device but can't figure it out. But don't worry; we're here to help, provide quick fixes, and solve problems with your device.
Follow these easy steps to troubleshoot and figure out what's causing your device's performance issues.
A) First, ensure that your device is up-to-date with the latest Software updates.
Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Download and Install > Follow On-screen notifications.
B) Restarting your device.
Press and hold the Power key and the Volume down key simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it.
C) It may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The charging port is wet or it has moisture residuals.
- Dust particles have build up inside the USB port.
- The charging port has been damaged due to corrosion, careless usage, or the use of incompatible charging accessories.
D) Fixing Moisture Detected Error on Samsung
Step 1. Use a soft dry cloth to gently wipe your Samsung phone and shake it while keeping the charging port down. Then place it in the open air or under the ceiling fan for some time so that the moisture evaporates.
Step 2. Blow compressed air at low pressure into the USB port.
If the moisture detected error won’t go away even after cleaning and wiping the USB port, and you are still unable to charge your Samsung device, try the following things.
Step 3. Turn off the device: Power off your Samsung phone and plug the charging pin. Your device will start charging.
Step 4. Disable Fast Charging: Disabling fast charging can make moisture detected warning on your Samsung Galaxy device go away. The steps to reach the setting differs depending on the software version.
Go to Settings> Device maintenance > Battery > 3-Dot icon > Advanced settings > Fast charging and turn it off.
Go to Settings> Device care > Battery > Charging and disable Fast charging.
E) Running the Diagnostic Tools under Samsung Members app.
Step 1. Run Samsung Members and select Get help on the lower half of the screen.
Step 2. Tap View Tests located under Diagnostics.
Step 3. Diagnostics checks, Individually Tap the following;
"Battery"
Step 4. Your Galaxy phone will then run through the checks.
Step 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the check.
Step 6. You can view your results after each check is complete.
F) Report error through Samsung Members app.
Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and Tap Error reports.
Step 2.Tap OK on agreement popup for sending system log data.
Step 3. Select Symptom category. Tap "Power/Battery/Charging".
