Hi, everyone! Over the past few weeks, the Galaxy A52 and A72 series (A52 4G, A52 5G, A52s 5G, A72) have received OneUI 4 based on Android 12 as a part of their 3-year promised updates. Bugs and errors are nothing new when major updates like these get released. I will post it here in community tab since I can't fit them all in Error reports. If you also experience these kinds of bugs, do leave a heart and comment!
Color Palette
- few color selection
- few apps only support wallpaper-based theming inside
- poorly applied to some icons like Calculator and Game Launcher
- poor contrast (e.g. dark mode = dark colors, light mode = light colors)
- reduces the battery faster when enabled
Samsung Keyboard
- animation lags frequently when used on third-party apps like Google Messages
- animation lags frequently when the emoji keyboard is expanded
- new emojis of Android 12 still missing
- does not expand throughout the notification panel when used in landscape mode
Gallery
- remaster picture button missing
- full-screen scrolling lags when the app is used for a long time
- sharing menu has a sharp animation (really not smooth)
Messages
- interface has no rounded borders and division when selecting messages similar to the UI of the Settings app
- notification panel does not use the same color as the background when the color palette on messaging UI is enabled
- iconof contacts does not have proper contrast when color palette and dark mode is enabled
Privacy
- camera access toggle in the privacy section and quick settings panel is missing
Camera
- shutter speed in default photo mode is still slow
- photos captured in darker scenes appear to be blurry frequently
Others
- animation lags when accessing Google Discover after light mode was enabled
- notification panel and quick settings animation lags frequently when accessing
Tips are useful to keep our devices running smooth, but we should not be limited by these. Remember that we also deserve a phone that not only just works, but lets you enjoy whenever you use it. Thank you for your time.
P.S. THIS ONLY COVERS THE A52/A72 SERIES. OTHER A SERIES PHONES LIKE A51 DOES NOT RELATE TO THIS!
My Galaxy A03 runs One UI 4.1 Core and I pretty can agree on your opinion about the Colour Pallette like its barely applied to the applications and noticed a shorter battery life when enabled.
