I have seen many posts of people who have updated to one ui 7 dealing with battery issues. I am yet to upgrade and I want it to go as smoothly and problem free as possible. Any explanation of these issues and what I can do to avoid them would be extremely helpful.

Btw I have an a16 if that matters in this context

I did see one solution to the battery issues online, which may offer some piece of mind for you:

Shut down the phone 》press the volume up and power buttons simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears 》use the volume buttons to CLEAR CACHE ONLY 》reboot the system to the one ui.

You can find plenty of videos online about this 'clearing cache using recovery mode' if you're confused about my steps.

I don't know if this will work, but if you have any battery drain issues ater upgrading to one ui 7 it may help.

If you're using an A16 I'd imagine you'll be fine and won't notice a major difference in battery performance. I'm 99% sure the midrange phones still run One UI Core (not the full suite of features) so you should be able to enjoy the animation optimisation and some new features with no downsides. (fingers crossed)

Hi Yippers_1036 and everyone else in this thread.

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing battery issues with the update. As SamsungDeviceLiker has mentioned, you can clear your cache partition to improve your battery life and see how it goes for you.

However, it does take some time for the device to optimise so give it a little and if the issue still persists, please submit an error report via the app. Our technicians will take a look into it for you and do their best to resolve the issue.

Thanks,
