When an update restarts it. I also have the auto restart feature - doesn't kick in as much on the S24 ultra and my usage.

I have the feature too. How does it help, though?

It's linked to device care. When the device does status checks it can trigger a restart. It has to understand your usage habits first, though.

does it automatically restart – like really sudden – or does it tell you that the phone will be restarting?

Haven't really observed the process. When I wake up it already completed it and asks for my password on the main profile, work profile and secure folder. It says the phone was restarted. Haven't bothered with logs though. I think it'll notify when something is a miss. I haven't had one since 20 series I think. Even with a botched update on the S22 Ultra.
