A smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy A70 or any mid-range device for that matter, shouldn’t have any issues getting signal or service as long as it is in an area where there is good coverage. However, some owners reported that their device displays the ‘No Service’ error has no signal. But then again, there’s always a possibility that the issue with the network or account. Fixing a Galaxy A70 that has no signal or service

The course of our troubleshooting will be to find out if this is just a minor issue that affected  your phone’s network services. Then we will consider other possibilities and rule them out one by one until we can determine what the cause really is. Here’s what you need to do:

Force restart your phone

This will refresh your phone’s memory as well as reload its applications and services. If this problem started without any obvious reason, there’s always a possibility that it’s just due to a system glitch or minor firmware issue. That’s the reason why you should start your troubleshooting with a forced restart. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A70 logo shows on the screen.

Once your phone has finished rebooting, try to see if it still has no signal or service. If the problem remains, try the next solution.

Make sure you are in an open area

Reception issues often occur if you’re in an enclosed area or building. Glass and concrete greatly affects the quality of the signal, so if your phone has good reception outside, then there’s no problem with it. You might be in an area where there’s an obstruction.

If you have a problem like this and while you’re troubleshooting your phone, make sure that you’re in an open area. If you do and your phone still has no service or signal, then try the next solution.

Reset the network settings of your phone

There are times when the network services of your device crash and if that happens, it would always result in network issues. No connectivity is the immediate effect and this can be due to that issue. Therefore, the next you have to do is to reset the network settings of your device to refresh the network services. Here’s how you do that:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and tap General management.
  4. Touch Reset.
  5. Tap Reset network settings.
  6. Tap Reset settings.
  7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
  8. Finally, tap Reset.

If your phone still has no signal after this, then move on to the next solution.

Factory reset your phone that has no signal

Firmware issues can also result in this kind of problem. If this issue occurs without apparent reason or cause, then you are required to reset your device. A reset will be able to fix any network-related problems including this one. However, before you do that, create a copy of your files and data that are stored in your phone’s internal storage. After the backup, remove your Google account so that you won’t be locked out. When ready, follow these steps to reset your phone:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A70 logo shows, release the keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A70 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Set up your phone as a new device after the reset, but if it still has no signal or service after the reset, then try the next solution.
