Why doesn't my phone connect to the Windows desktop anymore?

I have always been able to download files from my phone to my computer, but lately I haven't been able to do so. Nothing happens when I connect my phone to my computer other than it showing that my phone is being charged. I have tried it on another computer but the same thing happens. I can't see my phone listed in the Windows directory. Can anyone help?

To enable developer options

Settings - software information - tap on build number a couple of times
