Who would not be worried if they saw their phone accidently being sat down? I will get worried too, and thanks for letting us know here. Practically, your reaction is pretty normal after taking care of your phone, being there, and doing that. It's a good thing that the surface where the accident happens is situated on a bed that is made of soft and foam materials.
What I did first was to check and inspect it physically for any visible cracks, lifted parts on the screen, a bent frame, chipped-off glass, etc. I also put it on a flat surface to make sure it stays flat and perpendicular to the surface. You can also put your device near your ear to hear any sounds that are beyond normal and try to note and observe your device for any abnormal issues.
