Last month, Samsung held an awesome event where Samsung Members Stars from all round the globe were gathered in Seoul, Korea. Together with Bern A.K.A @Bern2Hell and with our Beautiful PIC – Aly. We embarked on a journey to connect with other Samsung Members Stars where we went on tours, tackled some missions, went on more tours, learned from workshops with the camera developers and K- Drama filmmakers and last but certainly not the least, went on more tours!
When we arrived, we immediately went to our hotel – Novotel Ambassador Seoul Gangnam to register and get our loot kit to prepare us for the coming days ahead – shirts, tag, bag, Samsung wireless charger and two cards loaded with some MONEH! Both for our travel and food expenses. Talk about being generous. Thank you, Samsung!
Since it is our first time in Korea, we immediately went to Changdeokgung Palace to take photos with our Hanboks.
Day 1: Inspiration Day
We started our day with orientation at the Go Smart Academy where we get a run through of the program proper for the next 3 days with our team called “Seoulmates” comprised of Samsung Members Stars and PICs from Poland, France and the Philippines. We were also handed out S23 Plus and Ultras for our 3-day escapade. I got the Galaxy S23 Plus.
Then we had lunch and visited Starfield Library at COEX.
After lunch we went on tour at Bongeunsa before heading back to Go Smart Academy and learn about location scouting and having deep-dive talks with K-Movie professionals. And to cap off the day, we had a hearty dinner mixed with mini games and dance tutorials.
Day 2: Samsung Immersion Day
We kick things off by heading to Samsung Digital City and visiting the Samsung Innovation Museum and learning about the history of Samsung and witnessing the technological progress it made from its conception, where it is today and its future plans for innovative technology. We also had the pleasure of having a private camera workshop with Mr. Saejin Kim himself, Corporate VP and Head Group on Camera Development.
Then we get to the most exciting, albeit the most secretive QA Lab Tour where we get to see in-person the product development and quality control processes that Samsung delivers to make sure that it produces the best quality galaxy devices.
We then went to Changgyeonggung Palace for a Content tour.
Finishing the day with a night tour and witnessing the dazzling Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain show.
Day 3: Camera Festival
I love playing first-person shooter games and the day starts with a Game Challenge. When the tutorial began, I was feeling confident because no one seems to know how to play Fortnite. Then they announced that they were going to play a mode where we don’t even need to shoot anybody – A squid game typesque mode on Fortnite. I easily cleared game 1 which you might have already guessed – Red Light, Green Light.
Game 2 was tricky. Basically no one finished the challenge but the winners were chosen on the last survivors which is luckily got by our teammates #1 Camille from France and #2 Bern from the Philippines.
We also had a brief connect talk which is basically sharing of our galaxy experience and Members community experience, which in my opinion should be a core activity in these Samsung Members Stars events as we gain more insights on other countries Samsung Members Stars program and we could brainstorm on how to make Members a more attractive app to use for Samsung users who are still non- Members or not aware of the App and/or the community.
Ending the event with a bang, we had a bountiful dinner filled with giveaways and awards. Thank you so much Samsung! I am really grateful for this opportunity and I gained a lot of insights and learned a lot in this event as it sparked a fuel of inspiration for more content creation in the future and ways to grow Members community here in the Philippines. Thank you!
