When I do video conferences, everyone in the video conference hears a loud echo except for me. When I put my mic on mute the echo disappears. So imagine during a conference everyone is having a discussion without me because I have to put my mic on mute. My theory is this phones mic is too sensitive and it picks up the sound coming from its own speaker hence the echo.

This is disheartening for a flagship phone. Video conferencing is a basic feautre (and necessary these days) why cant they fix this? I've seen other people post about it too.

I just got this this month and gave up my iphone for it. Thinking about returning it..

Sorry to hear about that. I too use my N20 Ulta 5G for video call meetings via Zoom all the time.

Try uninstalling the vcall app you are using and re-install it. You can also report that issue using this app. They could address it there too.

Try to lower your in-call volume, that's the main culprit for the echo. Also, are you using wireless buds or the speaker phone?

i had the same issue returned 2 units to my local best buy. Never had this issue on the note 10 plus. i believe it has to do with the placement of the mic and the speakerphone on the note 20 ultra they are right next to each other and then noise cancellation feature does something whacky with it. you are right its a basic feature that should work not everyone likes to use headsets and especially annoying when using apps like whatsapp zoom webex or teams video calls.
