Hi Everyone,

Ive switched email apps from Google Gmail app to Samsung Email today.

I really like the Samsung offering so far, except for a couple of minor things.

1. I can't figure out how to create new folders.

2. Is there a create rule to move emails into their folders automatically.

3. Can I get rid of the orange colours.

What email app does everyone prefer? And why?

Many thanks

Hi, I actually like the email app.

Try bringing up the side panel and long press on the inbox or desired group (not the top shortcuts, the below groups). See my screenshots, it will bring up a menu to create subfolders. You can do this on the Gmail group too.

I actually like the orange, but unfortunately I don't think you can change it. You can change the Gmail account colour which will change the dots next to the emails, but the rest of the app will still use the orange theme.

I don't believe it has rules to auto move emails, its pretty basic. You can flag emails as VIP and they will appear in the VIP folder, but I think only manually moving by swiping on emails is possible.

A hot tip, I hated this app at first because it would always be loading emails as I scrolled down to older emails. If you have this issue, go to your settings and your Gmail account, and change the sync options like my screen shot to all time. You can also change which folders to sync so it only pulls in everything from the folder you want (i.e. I just have my inbox selected to sync). Anyway, it made my experience with the app a lot nicer.

To archive emails, swipe on them and select move (you can customise the swipe menus if you like), and move them to your Gmail 'all mail'. A nice change for the Samsung team would be to have the ability to select a default folder to move to when swiping in a direction so you can archive with just a swipe, but this till works.

Its a basic email app and has its quirks, but I like the clean one UI look. Hopefully Samsung just don't try to cram adverts into it like all their other apps...Screenshot_20210718-095219_Email_6587.jpgScreenshot_20210718-095409_Email_6589.jpg

Hello, for mobile I use Outlook as fully integrated with O365 corporate services but I suggest you to take a look to Spark https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.readdle.spark
