We want longer software support Sammy! The reason why Apple still wins is because they hit the right spots. Apple is like a sniper, they hit where it matters. Sammy is like Machine Guns, taking all the shots but don't always hit the target.
What actually matters
1. Sheer processing power
2. Consistent UI throughout devices
3. Longer software support

Galaxy Note
samsung has many type of phone starting from entry, mid, & flagship with different chip inside all of these categorize phone. if samsung release update that requires high processing chip, how can entry level chip handle that OS? compare to iphone that equip with good chip & optimise OS. This part of marketing also to sustain their customer buying their latest product.

Your point is understandable. However you said it your self, Optimised Software. That's the key. I'm wasn't asking for flagship features to be on the mid range smartphones. In my opinion with good software optimisation, even mid range processors could run the latest software. But the more important ones are the previous years flagships. The iPhone 6s from 2015 still gets some of the good stuff from iOS 13, while the Galaxy S7 came out on 2016 didn't even get One UI. All I'm saying is, Samsung is a big company, and I do believe they are capable of getting it done if they're willing to. If the previous flagships have the capable hardware to run the latest software features, they should bring the update. I mean, stuffs like dark mode, screen recording, face unlock doesn't really need that much of processing power. If xda developers can come up with mods, Samsung is clearly is capable of releasing their own official update. Longevity in software updates may stop some previous customers from upgrading to the latest and greatest, but I guarantee it will attract new customers who never even think of buying a Samsung Galaxy before. This reputation Samsung has with short software support isn't good for business either.
