I have had problems with this phone since the beginning. It continually drops its internet connection (via mobile data) and up until now I would go to connections and select the other of two options and this would usually get me back online.

Now, after the last update I cannot get any connection via mobile data. Still connects to home wiFi. My Optus plan is not the problem.

I have tried every trick that my internet searches have turned up for this but all to no avail.

Pleas help.

Hi @CuriousIndividual, I have a few suggestions to try and see whether this resolves your issue.

  • Restart your device
  • Turn Wi-Fi off/on
  • Turn the router off for 10 seconds
  • Forget the Wi-Fi network and then re-sign into the Wi-Fi network
  • Verify with another Wi-Fi network
  • Switch from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz or vice versa (dependent on router specifications)
  • Turn off power saving mode
  • Run your phone to Safe Mode and observe [hold power>restart>hold volume down until lock screen].
  • Reset network settings [Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings > RESET NETWORK SETTINGS]

If the issue persists,

I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Im having the same nightmare since three months and am trying everything possible on my Note10+ 5G phone. No luck. since the last Android 12 update it has this particular problem. it is surely a software issue as there are many people who have posted this issue. it has Telstra netwrok. when i change the Sim to another phone its getting perfect signals. The phone gets signals on and off when ever it feels like.

If this is happening in one particular spot it may be that the signal is weak and the phone is switching between 4G and 5G. Try setting your phone to 4G and lower (under network connections) and see if that makes a difference. To check coverage where you are load an app called Aus Phone Towers. Next, this isn't a solution but something that will improve receiving phone calls. Google search "wi-fi calling Optus". If you have the right phone model, listed in that link, calls where the reception is weak will come in via any wi-fi connection you are logged in.
