Samsung Internet open tabs search

I have open tabs in Samsung Internet. A short while ago I used to be able to search my open tabs in the tabs view and it would find the tab, I would tap on  the tab and it would open it.
Now that doesn't happen anymore. Now when I search my open tabs it will find it as before but when I tap on it it just selects it (goes into select mode) and when I tap it it then gives me the option to Share, Lock or Close. I don't want that. I want to be able to tap on it and open it like I used to.

Hi @IV1021, that's strange. It appears to be working as normal when I tested it just now. 

When you see it in 'select' view, are you able to click the < arrow on the bottom right to exit select view?

Hi, when I view the open tabs then I can tap on one and it will open. But the problem is when I search. When I search through my open tabs it finds the tab/s I'm searching for then as soon as I tap one it goes into edit mode. I can click the arrow to get out of select mode but then it cancels my search as well.
I'm going to uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps and let you know. Thank you.

I've just reinstalled it and it does the same thing when I search through my open tabs. Is it some kind of new feature for the search function?

Hi @IV1021, thank you for the additional information. I have just tested again on my device and it appears to be working as normal. 

In the screenshot you have provided, it appears to be working as normal without select view. Are you able to tap the tab?

Please note tapping should be done in a quick motion as select view is triggered by tapping and holding the tab.

Hi, I did a search and did a quick tap and it still went into select mode, then I tried holding down on the tab and it still went into select mode 😔.
I have the latest version of Samsung Internet on my phone v15.0.4.9. I have cleared the Samsung Internet cache, I have restarted my phone but it's still selecting instead of opening 😔.

That is very strange as I have the same app version. Could you please try:

Settings > Apps > Samsung Internet > Storage > Clear Data. 

If this doesn't work, I suggest sending an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further. 

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > Application > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Thankyou. I did Clear Data and still had the same problem. I tried something else after that, I changed the tabs view to Stack and then Grid and then when I did a search and I tapped on the site it opened it as it should, it didn't go into select mode. It worked properly in Stack and Grid views, but it doesn't work properly in List view. I'll send the error report as you suggested about the List view.
