Galaxy NoteHi @Chackman, messages in blue mean they have been sent using Rich Communication Services/RCS on Samsung Messages, or Chat Features on Google Messages app. This means the texts are sent over Wi-Fi rather than SMS.
For RCS to be enabled, both users in a conversation must have it enabled.
Hope this clarifies things :)

Galaxy NoteHmm that's strange. Only reason I can think of would be network stability, if either of you have a poor Internet connection, it can revert back to SMS. If this isn't the case for either of you, I suggest sending an Error Report to our team via the Samsung Members app so we can investigate this further.
To send an error report:
Samsung Members > Get Help > Error Report > Messages > Detail issue and frequency > Tick 'send log data' > Send
