First of all, I've pre-ordered S22 Ultra 1Tb already. However Samsung US states that S22 Ultra have variant of 16Gb+512Gb/1Tb. So I'm wondering why Samsung Australia doesn't have such variants? I mean I want 16Gb RAM rather than 1Tb ROM.

Then S22 Ultra in AU with Exynos chip or a Snapdragon chip?JBHIFI says it with Exynos chip but all carriers says it with Snapdragon chip. However I can't find any mention of it on Samsung AU's official website. Could someone clarify for me.šŸ¤”

Hi @TAVAN,

According to the Samsung Global website, the S22 Ultra comes with either 8gb ram or 12gb depending on storage configuration.
I don't see 16gb.

Regarding Australian model and CPU, Samsung Australia posted an answer to this question on Instagram, and we are getting Qualcom, so the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

@Dolgogi,
Thank you for clearing my doubts, I just hope Samsung doesn't discriminate against Australian consumers, after all we've been suffering Exynos toture for a few years LoL5d833b6a78513f76_151486_1644473961.jpg4c99c738d81f867f_151487_1644473946.jpg

What would be funny if the Exynos 2200 with AMD RDNA 2 GPU beats the Snapdragon this time round. I can't see the GPU be beaten as PS5 and Xbox One X also use RDNA 2.

But beware -- not everyone uses their GPU as much as a gamer. For ordinary users, their demands on the CPU are even greater. This requires better tuning of the CPU by the SoC manufacturer, which was not seen on previous generations of Exynos. So I also have no confidence of Exynos 2200-- from a victim of Exynos 990.

I totally agree with you there. My exynos 2100 runs fast as when kept cool. That's the biggest issue with the exynos is they run fast then overheat, then underclock and performance takes a massive hit.

Blame Samsung's 5nm EUV process. The same period of Qualcomm SoC also is "Owendragon". When I saw the cooling system highlighted at Unpacked 2022, I knew it was going to be a ā€œhot yearā€ too. However, I still think that Qualcomm is slightly better in terms of overall SoC tuning.

Thanks @Dolgogi. Just reaffirming what our Instagram team stated, it's the Snapdragon chip in our S22 range.

Hi Samsung Laura,

Are you confident that Australia will get Exynos chip only?

It is a Snapdragon not an Exynos. The ONLY region worldwide getting the Exynos is Europe + UK
