Has anyone fixed this issue when connecting to a kenwood car stereo. It worked well for around 8 months and all of the sudden that message pops up in the car stereo when connecting through usb cable

Try changing the USB cable longer than 30 CM

Hi @MaxiCairns, that's strange. Have you tried updating Android Auto and Google Play Services via the Google Play store?

I have not had final success in maps,  but what I found to rid of the uSB error message was to attach the USB cable to the phone and to the Kenwood unit's USB port PRIOR to starting the vehicle. Each & every time I hook up prior to starting the engine I do not receive the error message.... Am still working on the issue with Android Auto on phone screen, it is in conflict with Maps on Kenwood, but this is major step forward. Kenwood V840BT via S22 ultra. Btw: had tried no less than a gazillion cables without success---- attaching prior to turning on the engine is the only success I've had.

In my case it was nothing to do with the kenwood unit or cables. It got fixed after a phone update by itself. Maybe just be patient until one comes up.
