I traded in my S10 for S24 recently. I already returned my S10 and few days got the email that from samsung that they received the device and currently inspecting it. Today, I was notified of a $1 refund from Asurion (my device was valued at $45 and I got charged a hold fee at that amount as well).
Is this $1 just a refund of what they hold when I entered my credit card details or the refund that I get for my device (as in I won't get my $45 back)?

note that the S10 is in good and working condition when I returned it and I have pictures and videos as proof.

Thanks.

Asurion has been involved in this scandal many times, with no refund. The best option is to contact ACCC about Asurion (Not Samsung, as they are only a partner to Asurion) directly, as it will be hard or nearly impossible to get both your device or the full refund back. Use the photos and videos as proof.

The $1 is the refund as Asurion deducted $44 (in your case) as a 'misgrading fee'. It sounds stupid because that's what it really is.

I'm sorry, but from what I know, say goodbye to your $44.
Get angry because they premeditated a scam to rip off 1000s of people.
Complain to as many Reviews, Consumer reviews & Consumer Advocacy.
Good luck
I truly hope you get to stick to these thieves.
Because that is what they are and need to be publicly ousted.

You can try requesting help from the moderators here like SamsungSilky, you can send them direct messages.

See this thread, they managed to resolve the issue

It is time Samsung ended its agreement with Asurion otherwise they might beseen to be acessories to fraud.

1$ it should be for when u entered the card and after a few days a week should get back the other money. Since you have proof then email or chat with them directly and make it clear you have proof as photos and video about the phone and when it was packaged so they will ask a few probably and then fix the issue
