So back December, I had the complete Apple Ecosystem, and much like any ecosystem, it works better especially if all came from the same brand.

Until recently when the new iOS/MacOS/WatchOS came out, everything just went so bad that I couldn't stand the idea of spending a big chunk of money and spending it on a new iPhone that can potentially get messed up again after a major update (was using an iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch SE and AirPods at the time).

I checked out Samsung's website, as well as visited a few Samsung experience stores and I have to say this was the best choice I've made over the past few months.

S23 Ultra, Galaxy Watch 4, Buds 2

In a nut shell, I got all these in exchange for one device with a cash in of less than 30k.

Some say it's a downgrade, yet my impressions was, the term "upgrade" can fall into different categories and each of these categories may be different for every consumer.

To me, what is considered as an upgrade in terms of ranking are as follow:

1. Screen
2. Battery and endurance
3. Camera
4, performance

All items listed acquired a green flag and quite frankly the partner got so into it and decided to get one for herself too while trading in her own iPhone 14 Pro

So not only does this give us upgrades based on the list mentioned

1. 6.8" display
2. 5,000 mAh battery with quick charge and amazing endurance that can last 1-2 days
3. new 200 MP lens and added features
4. top of the line performance to date.

These both come with a free Galaxy Watch 4 and a buds 2, which technically with the exclusion of a Samsung Laptop aka Galaxy Book, these 3 alone already provide an ecosystem of their own as opposed to buying each one individually.

So far I have not seen anything worth complaining about, I do see both as an early Christmas gift for the both of us considering the amount of work we've done for 2023 and are pretty much happh we did the trade.

I'll try to post more content about the Galaxy S23 Ultra in the coming weeks, but all I can say this is the best trade-in I've encountered.

Cheers!

Just curious... based on experience, why is it the trading value of iPhones are always higher than any flagship phones from other brands?
Don't get me wrong, I prefer Android than IOS, and love Samsung eversince, but this is what I really don't understand when it comes to the reselling value of iPhones vs any Android phones.

Totally agree, I think it's more of the notion that resellers have that iPhone is more of a luxury product as opposed to Androids being generalized as just Android devices.

The, oh so, sosy colonial mentality. 😅 Because Pinoys revere the fruit as a status symbol.

It's not just here in PH. This is the same case in the US and UK.

I hope it's not a status symbol there as it should be defacto standard? Apple would be considered local right? US, At least. Could also be the way the fruit does business. Samsung could take some cues.

Actually if you try to observe the "now" the number of iPhone users have increased by a huge margin making it a default, so it is slowly becoming a generic brand and you see less and less of android or Samsung users which kind of makes it the more premium route.

This was actually how it was years ago where the mass consumer were more on Android and less on the iPhones

I always thought, in the US, at least, Apple would be the go to device. I personally started on Nokia cam phones. Before shifting to Samsung devices when they started their cam phones. So far the experience has been great after a little more than a decade
