Bug in Message app

Anybody else experiencing this after the March 2023 update on S23 Ultra?

It happens on all messages that have short codes.

Question: Are you using the Google Messages app, instead of the stock Samsung Messages app?

Yes. I disabled the stock samsung one.

The problem lies with the Google Messages app, so it's an issue on their end. I've trawled through their support forum as well, and it looks like you're not alone in this issue: In messages the notification "can't reply to this short code" is flickering. - Messages by Google Co...

The fix that seems to have worked is to revert the app to the previous version (more details in the link), but that solution is still temporary. Might be that the devs for the app have not gotten around to fixing it yet.

For now, maybe you can switch back to the stock Samsung Messages app? You can also try other third-party apps like Textra if you want!

I enabled the samsung one and chose it as the default messages app. Should I disable the google one?

Yup, disabling it would force the phone to use the default messages app :)
