Galaxy SHi @ph03, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Is this after the recent update? A few things to check are:
1. Is your device software up to date? Settings > Software update > Download & install
2. Is your Calculator up to date? Tap & hold Calculator app > App info > App details in store > Update if available.
If the issue persists, I suggest sending an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further.
To send an error report:
Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Galaxy SI have the same problem, since the latest update I believe. None of the suggested steps above have resolved it. It's very annoying that every time the phone updates are performed, old settings disappear and it takes ages to restore them manually.

Galaxy SI was having the same issue, I noticed on the reviews in the app store, that 100% of the recent reviewers complained of the same issue with the December update. This is clearly an issue with the app, not correctable by phone settings. The solution I landed on was to uninstall the app and downloaded the previous version; 12.0.15.9 . I am now, once again able to calculate silently.
