Cannot use trade in code on website errror: Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable

Hi, I'm going through the online purchase process, and after receiving the Trade in ID (for an instore trade in), and imputing it at the checkout screen, I receive this error message.

"Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment". This occurs on desktop and via mobile. 

Any ideas as to the reason?

No sorry but I tried to trade my phone in and was refused because they said it had been traded in before, which is not true
