Hi. I just got the new S23 Ultra. I've been trying to connect to my iPhone's Hotspot but it couldn't. I have also tried Bluetooth Tethering but it couldn't share the network connection. Anyone else experiencing this? What can I do? Thanks!

Hello Starrcake,

We apologize for the inconvenience it caused you upon learning that you had encountered difficulty connecting your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to an iPhone mobile hotspot.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version for both Samsung and iPhone devices. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4. Restart your device.

Submit an error report through Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.

Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.

Step 3. Select Symptom category "Networking/Wi-Fi".

Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.

I called support 2 days ago. They also remotely co trolled my phone. Issue wasn't resolved. Support told me to wait for the next update. As of now, there are no updates available yet since it's still new.

Issue resolved. I can now connect to my iPhone hotspot after I updated to iOS 16.3.1

Hi, I tried updating my iPhone 13 Pro to the newest iOS version (16.3.1) but I still can’t tether my Samsung Galaxy S23 (latest version S911BXXS1AWBM) to my iPhone. Error that shows up is that my Samsung Galaxy S23 can’t obtain an IP address. Also tried restarting both phones and deleting past connections (remember wifi) on my Samsung phone. Hoping for other ways to fix this issue.

Hi. The issue is back for me as well. Are you using globe postpaid on your iPhone by any chance? I have a globe postpaid on my iPhone and a globe prepaid on my S23U. I tried connecting my S23U to my cousin's iPhone 13 (he uses a GOMO sim) and it was successful. I'm starting to believe it's a carrier issue. However, I tried switching my sims but I still couldn't connect my S23U to my iPhone 13.

Hi Starrcake. It's the reverse in my case. I am using a Globe prepaid for my iPhone 13 Pro (prepaid data promos are cheaper than postpaid data rates that's why I like to tether here) whereas I am using my Globe postpaid for my Samsung Galaxy S23. I am not using a secondary simcard for both my iPhone 13 Pro and Samsung Galaxy 23. I will try verify this with Globe and seek answers for what might be the probable cause. As I was checking I can technically connect and tether any device to my iPhone 13 Pro (My laptop, my old Samsung Galaxy S10e, an iPhone 11 etc.) except my S23.
