Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone out there having issue with S20 FE 5G that is getting overheated just by recording video. I am running on android 11 and have tried numerous settings (including rolling back to factory setting) but the issue is not fixed.

I got the phone through the Chartered Accountant promotion program and I am just wondering Samsung is selling defects through that promotion. Now they are causing me trouble from return or swapping it. It is a nightmare as I have been using the last 8 years. May be not anymore!

Many thanks

Hi there, sorry to hear of the experiences you've had with your S20 FE 5G. Generally, it is normal behaviour for the phone to warm up after extended periods of use (e.g filming a long video). However, if it is overheating in a relatively short period of time, becomes too hot to touch, and is consuming excessive amounts of battery, there may be a deeper issue.

As you've already mentioned performing a factory reset, my next suggestion would be sending an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Hi mate,

I bought the phone brand new and use it less than 14 days when I ask to return the phone under your 14 days change of mind policies.

I had used S8 before this phone and done the recording and experienced no heat at all. I only recorded for about 7 or 8 minutes  using S20 FE 5G and it got hot and hotter

I do not have time to muck around...I contacted your online support and they escalate it further and promise to come back in 2 or 3 days but nothing has happened. Same experience with promising but failing to deliver when buying the phone and the watch 4.

Just a nightmare and wasting so much time dealing with Samsung. Who want to come back with experiences like these

Thank you for the additional information. In this scenario, error reports can assist us in identifying issues in your device performance through log data.

So that I may follow up on your case with our online team, would you be able to provide the following details via direct message:

1. Full name, mobile number, address, reference number.

I have same problems with s20fe, Samsung never help much, in Perth Western Australia we have very few Samsung shops. I have taken previous phones with problems,  they tell you to reset phone to factory default,  then send phone to service dept, few days later they return phone saying they have installed latest firmware and there's nothing wrong with the phone. I have eventually given up and moved to Apple iPhone. No more problems
