After the adroid 12 update, some of my apps started acting weird. I have read here that factory reset could help apps to run smoothly. How to do the factory reset correctly? And tips on where and how to store/keep all the files before deleting it all?

Backup your files either in your SD Card, to your PC or in the cloud.

Samsung Cloud will take care of your contacts, settings, messages, apps, call logs etc. but not your photos and files.

Factory Reset can be done in Settings - General Management - Reset - Factory Data Reset.

Wow @jamesrred thank you.. but is it ok to just go to my files and then copy all folders and files there and then paste it on where i want to put it? How bout the apps?

Yeah, you can put your files anywhere you think is safe (just not in your internal storage) and just paste them back to your device after reseting.

Apps will be backup by your Google Account, so sync them too before resetting. Just remember that you'll start fresh with your apps again, it will just install them, but saved data isn't.

Oh I guess this is the tiring part 😪😩 .. where after the factory reset, reinstall all the apps and then log in again to each apps 🥲

Upon setting up your device, you'll have the option there for it to install them for you automatically, but yes, it is hectic to log in in your apps again. But if you have your passwords back up in Samsung Pass or the Google Passwords, they're just a tap anyway.

Yes this is a good idea, the samsung pass. On my previous phone, I always use this and it's hassle free. Thank you again for this tip 💜

Back all your files. Upload photos or important files in a cloud (google photos, google drive, onedrive, dropbox). Backup your settings via Samsung cloud.

Research first if Factory reset is really the answer before proceeding. "It could solve the problem."or "It will solve the problem." ?

Omg.. you mean to say, it's not necessary to factory reset your phone after a major update?

Not really. From my experience atleast. I can't even remember the last time I did it. Haven't encountered a problem requiring it.

Look, if you see people here encountering the same problems, then chances are it's not an isolated incident. So more or less, it ain't an error in your part. The problem lies in apps that aren't optimized for the new OS (which is completely normal.). No amount of resets can fix that. Factory reset is suppose to be a last resort not an all around remedy.
