My Galaxy S20 Ultra is beyond recoverable, even it was only in water for less than 3minutes, and just in 4ft. Would you still believe that this flagship phone complies with IP68 rating?

Hello Eng-Eng.

Please find below more details of IP Rating.

IP, or Ingress Protection, is a universally accepted measurement of varying degrees for dust and liquid resistance. Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Note10, Note10+, S10e, S10, S10+, Note9, S9, S9+, Note8, S8, S8+, S7, and S7 edge feature an IP rating of 68, which means you can bring it with you on adventures and take comfort in knowing that you can carry on using these devices.

Devices backed by an international standard rating of IP68 are deemed fit enough to withstand dust, dirt and sand, and are resistant to submersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to thirty minutes.

However,

*Based on test conditions for submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. Not advised for beach or pool use. Water or dust damage not covered by warranty.

For the nth time:

Facts:
1. My phone has no history of drops, so I'm 100% there will be no cracks
2. Phone was immediately rescued in a 4ft swimming pool in less than 5mins. As far as I know, it can withstand 1.5m deep upto 30 MINUTES!

3. I know precautions, never turn it on while it is wet. But this phone just keeps overheating, and shuts off on its own and never boot again even 3 days had past.

Therefore, your feature does not comply and do not deserve IP68 rating, IT IS A DEFECT!!!

You are just repeating my facts above, as if I didn't read that IP68 rating. Which part of my item#2 you don't understand?
