As a normal person and who can't upgrage to higher version of samsung, s21 ultra (snapdragon 888) is still the best to use in 2023.

S23 ultra

Based on my experience and test in a couple apps.
I don't really think that s23 ultra is worth to buy and upgrade for s21 ultra users. Imagine a 2yrs old device still can beat the performance of s23 ultra in the long run, and it much stable than 8gen2.

S21 ultra has much better for gaming performance rather than s23 ultra.

With this picture I try to test why s23 ultra keeps fps drop while my s21 ultra still on the goods.

S21 ultra can still perform at the best settings and beat the s23 ultra.

All of this is based on my personal experience.

I was pleased with my even older series, the Note20-Ultra too. But it had Exynos chipset and 2 greenlines appeared one after the other, in normal use, watching YT. Snapdragon could be the difference in hardware efficiency/performance. S23U is run by Snapdragon Gen 8 Gen2. It will wise to buy this model. Who knows Samsung will start releasing this proprietary Exynos chipset again for S24? No, I will not upgrade. I don't trust Exynos.

Hi Rene, hope soon will having a patch to fix the heat issues and frame drops on s23 ultra to more worth buying, rather than staying on the old models. I really like the upgraded features of s23 ultra but the performance on the gaming is not acceptable and reliable. The exclusive chipset of 8gen2 Qualcomm SM8550-AC for s23 ultra much better to improve it more. Rather than the Qualcomm SM8550-AB global

Looking forward.

I used S21 Ultra before I upgrade to S23 Ultra, the main reason for my upgrade is because of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in which we all know performs way better from Exynos.

Nah, 8gen2 at this moment is not good enough on the samsung s23 ultra. It needs more improvements and patch. Specially on cpu throttling while playing games. My s21 ultra is a snapdragon 888 and not Exynos 2100, this Exynos 2100 is a garbage when it comes to performance, while snapdragon 888 is much more better as of this moment on 8gen2. I already compared many times. Camera is good, battery is more long last, but when you use on gaming, it pretty **bleep** **bleep** on s23 ultra. Also the front camera is better on the s21 ultra. 🙂 Anyway all of the experience is based on different perspectives and preferences of the user. For me upgrading on s23 ultra from s21 ultra is not worth it. As of this Q1 to Q2. May be I will wait for the new patch of update for their systems to fix cpu throttling, or wait for 8gen3 for s24 series.

Exactly the reason mine was using Exynos 2100 😂. If I do have the snapdragon version I would have second thoughts on upgrading
