J7 pro to s21 5g is it worth the upgrade

Is it worth the upgrade from my beloved Galaxy J7 pro to Samsung galaxy s21 5g. For swap plus 6k cash. I will gonna miss my phone because it has the name samsung on it. The last generation for J series. Please help.

Although I do see the "last generation" thing, remember, technology is supposed to make your life easier not pull you down.

Using outdated tech means your account, and data is less secured.

If the Galaxy S21 is in great condition, that is a major upgrade so yes go for it.

It'll give you a ton of enhancements over your J series smartphone.

Just making sure that you know what you're getting into - it seems like the S21 5G in question is a DOCOMO model  - a telecom company from Japan. That means the phone is likely going to be carrier locked, and you'll need assistance on unlocking it.

Additionally, the Galaxy S21 5G is set to reach end of life (no more support) by 2026 - meaning no more updates to the OS past that point. 

I personally don't recommend trading up to an early version flagship like this. To me, it feels like a losing trade, given that you're only going to get essential updates for up to 1 year - which might lead you to purchase another device down the line. Additionally, we're not sure about how healthy the battery life is. Depending on usage, you might find that the battery may be bloating, the back plate may be rising, or there may be cracks on the screen that need a closer look to be seen.

Thanks but first, my galaxy s21 5g is carrier unlocked which means i was able to use it for Globe prepaid. Second i was able to use my galaxy J7 pro in 2024 even though its past its security update wayback in 2021 and ended its official major support in 2019. Third i already came to the samsung official store for the Galaxy Trade in Program but they only offer 1,000 pesos discount for my galaxy j7 pro. The battery life is ok and its like a brandnew condition. Its just the owner really badly needs a money thats why she sell it for 7,000 pesos and my galaxy j7 pro
