My Galaxy phone automatically changed to Daylight Saving Time (DST) even though I live in Brisbane (

Hello,

I live in Brisbane, Queensland, where Daylight Saving Time (DST) is not observed, but my Samsung Galaxy phone automatically moved one hour ahead on October 5, 2025 when DST started in other states.

This caused my alarms to go off one hour earlier, and I ended up arriving at work an hour early.

My partner, who uses the same carrier but an iPhone, did not experience this issue.

It seems that the phone incorrectly detected a Sydney or NSW time zone while I was in the Brisbane area (Slacks Creek). Please investigate this as a system or time zone bug affecting users in Queensland.

Hey if you go into date and time in your settings toggle automatic time zone then click select time zone then you should be able to change it to you location

Im in brisbane & have no issues, my settings are as JoshF pointed out above & set to auto time zone for brissy, that should sort it for you.

I agree with JoshF and imagroova2. It is weird that the iphone didn't do it but this is mainly a carrier issue and not the phone itself. If you go into that setting that JoshF mentioned, you can see the option for automatic date and time provided by your network. This can be switched off...I am closer to the border than Brizzy and mine didn't change either... but hope this will fix this for daylight saving next year 😊

Mine s25 did this today too and my daughters s25. Was annoying as I thought it was 6 am but it was 5 .

I've got S23 Ultra on OneUI8 and no issues with DST issues. Clock stayed on Brissie time.👍
