Please don't proceed. Seems like a lot of users, including myself, after updating started to get green/purple line(s) as part of a permanent fixture on the digitizer.
Sorry, I don't agree with this reasoning. Used my phone for 3 years where some times it got hot to the point a warning pops up. Never had the green line issue. If what you said is correct then Samsung should have put a warning for the update that it could damage the phone physically also. If what you say is correct then they put themselves on a platter for lawsuits.
Which model are you using? Usually if battery drain is due to software. It could be a combo of things that caused it but the one thing you can do to find the root cause is do a factory reset. See within a day before reinstalling back your apps. Then install back your apps in batches. It could be that certain apps not playing nice with your current software version. It's a hassle but next update could also easily resolve your problem. This things are a hit or miss unless other users are facing same issue.
