So I just got off with Samsung support and it seems they cannot also resolve this issue. Tapping and holding a widget will no longer show the remove option or the settings for that widget just like it used to. It just gives you a description of what the widget is and that's it nothing else. Anyone getting the same issue or is it just some setting I am not aware about? I did check if I accidentally turned the home screen lock option, but no. It wasn't locked. I find this issue pretty strange.

If you recently updated to One UI 6, try rebooting your phone and see what will happen. You can also go to settings and then Apps and search for One UI Home and then go to storage and clear data. Lastly, if both did not work, you can try wiping cache partition and then check afterward.

ok just tried and aside from resetting all the arrangements of my apps, nothing changed same issue. Just realized that it is not only the widget that I can't remove even the apps! So if say I accidentally put an app in the home screen I have no way to remove it. Tsk tsk such a mess now my home screen

Too bad it did not work. The last resort which should fix the issue is performing a factory reset and then starting fresh if you have time setting up your phone again or backing it up first so you can restore everything.

This issue that you reported is very uncommon and I can no longer think of another way to fix it other than a factory reset.

So update I have done factory reset and brought the options back to customize widgets and the remove option for widgets and apps returned as well. I think it is the new update on the One UI home that caused the issue, so I didn't install that update. it is still downloading the backup right now. I will see if anything will mess the homescreen options again. Will give another update once done

Hi, I was searching for this problem for like 3 months 😂 and thanks to you I solved the problem. I started reading your comments and I strucked by "one UI Home" app, I first deleted the cache only of the app but there was nothing happened. I thought of the factory reset, but what if another app is set to home ui default?? And YES that was the problem. I downloaded an application a couple of months ago called "Taskbar", and it forced the mobile to be the default app for home UI. I changed the default to be the normal and kaboom problem solved.
