For a few years now, I've been annoyed, as have others, by the inability to set/edit your mobile number on Samsung phones, though some other android phones had this issue as well.
While not a major issue exactly, it was rather irritating that when you go to the phones About Phone screen, the phone number section displayed 'Unknown '.

This issue was generally caused by Google/Samsung removing the tools to add/edit your phone number on the sim card, as well as the carriers no longer programing the service number into the sim, like they used to do.

My phones would only show numbers in that field when I was in Korea using local sims, which the carriers there still program your service number into.

Thankfully, whatever black magic Google/Samsung have used in Android 12/One UI 4, the phone is now able to get your service number and display it in that field and it also displays in the Sim Card Manager.👍

I'm wondering if those using e-Sim and an S21 series phone have their number showing in this section as well??

(Or anyone else who manually updated their Fold3/Flip3 😁)

Hi @Dolgogi, thanks for your feedback. I suggest sending this through as an error report for it to be raised directly to our research & development team.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Thanks @SamsungLaura
I can't now, since my S21U & Fold3 are on One UI 4 and so this old (Android?) issue is no longer a problem (I'm only using a single physical sim at this time).

But perhaps other members who are using eSim + Nano Sim can submit a report if they find themselves with only 1 number showing, as @Kombatsd noted.

Still on android 11, but using fold 3.

Esim and sim shows unknown.
