One UI 5.1 Gallery Enhancements

I've seen reports online (including on Samsung's website here) that Gallery will be getting a number of enhancements as part of One UI 5.1. Among them is the Shared Family Album. Are these going to be delivered as a separate update to the Gallery app? I am running 5.1 now on my new S23 but the Shared Family Album feature is not there.

Have you tried creating a Shared Album?
I've never used this feature, but I just went through the set up, and found when creating the Shared Folder, you can then pick friends/family to share with.

Though it looks limited to those with Samsung accounts. Or you can share a link to those with a Galaxy devices (usually people not in your contact lists).

Thanks Dolgogi but that's a pre-existing feature. Nothing new there in 5 or 5.1. I was hoping that they improved on this.

@El3ctric ahhhh, I now understand what you were referring to.
I was just watching a video relating to Galaxy S23 series Album tricks & tips, and I saw the new Shared family album feature.

It seems to not be available to us at the moment. Hopefully this will turn up sooner rather than later.

I've been poking around trying to find out more about this feature. It seems that it goes beyond just family albums. There is a new option in Samsung account settings to set up a family group. This is then used by Gallery for family albums and, I would assume, for other family related features in the future. Unfortunately there's still no sign of these features in Aus. So One UI 5.1 is not exactly One UI 5.1 everywhere. I wish Samsung were more clear about discrepancies like this and the roadmap. Would be nice to have an official comment on this.
