Galaxy SHello JojoL,
We are sorry to hear about your disappointment with your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra having issues with Pause USB Power Delivery, while the battery was still charging and at about 65% upon activation.
I feel it and understand it. But don't fret; we are here to guide, assist, and offer solutions to restore your device to optimum performance.
With ‘Pause USB Power Delivery’ feature is a direct power supply method to the system bypassing the battery. When the feature is enabled in a PD charger (PPS* supported TA, 25W↑) connected status on the phone during the game, power is supplied to the system through a charger, and physical battery charging is minimized. It improves the phenomenon of performance degradation/throttling by device heat, and the possibility of lifespan deterioration caused by maintaining of continuous battery charging in the high-temperature situation.
It can be turned on/off directly through the user option in Game Booster settings.
- * Path: Game Launcher app > More > Game Booster > turn on ‘Pause USB Power Delivery’
Operation Condition
- When a PD charger(PPS* supported TA, 25W↑) is connected to the device, the option is exposed continuously during the game once it is implemented after installation, then you enable that feature on the menu.
Pause USB Power Delivery mode is a function that operates only during the game, and is disabled and switched to battery charging state when the device operates other task than the game such as Display off (game not terminated)/screen switched to another one), connected with normal TA or not charging. - The mode is enabled only when Battery SOC (State of Charge) ≥ 20 %
[Supported models] - (Since S22 series) S23/S22/TAB S8 series, Flip4/Fold4 , A33, A53, A73, M33, A23.
* PPS (Programmable Power Supply): PPS is an advanced fast charging technology standard for USB-C devices that can adjust the voltage and current by feeding with maximum power depending on a device’s charging status in real time. - PPS supported TA = PD3.0↑ TA (PD: Power Delivery)
- Path: Game Launcher app > More > Game Booster > turn on ‘Pause USB Power Delivery’
- Required PD charger(PPS* supported TA, 25W↑) connection and Battery SOC(State of Charge) ≥ 20 %
If that doesn't fix the problem, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:
Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.
Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.
Step 3. Select Symptom category "Settings/System" and "Power/Battery/Charging".
Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.
