When using S23 ultra fir astrophotograhy, photos have either a red haze or flare in them. There are light scorces on while taking photos in expert raw.
The phone does not do this in the standard camera app. I have used the expert raw app on my old S21 ultra and this never happened.

Are all the other camera modes okay?

Yes, it is just expert raw mode. I have uninstalled and re-installed module and I have done a factory reset. Nothing seems to fix it.

Astrophotography involves the camera having a very long shutter speed. This means any light pollution may cause some unintended effects.

I've had times where andom people were using their lights and it ended up ruining my pictures. Ideally for the specific time the camera is on, the scenery has to be undisturbed.

Try doing this in a completely dark room and see if the issue appears.

It is not light pollution, I live in rural Victoria and turn of any lights before taking shot. The photo attached was taken with my older S21 ultra 20230917_200122~2_1000000220_1699224727.jpg

Different days/time, so it's not a good test/comparison.

Try and take a photo in the darkened room. If the redness comes up, then you have a potential hardware issue and you can send the phone for servicing/check.

I wonder if my z flip5 could do something similar in its own way 🤔
