Hi guys, I just discovered that our S20 plus sold in the philippines are not 5G capable. I bought mine from pre order at sm appliances. The sales lady told me that it was 5G enabled.

Question, any chance that I can return this phone to them and request for a replacement? I bought this phone before because I want to have a 5G phone. Thanks in advance sa mga sasagot.

It has to have a 5G label on the box so you know it is 5G ready unit. It depends when you bough it. If it is within 7 days by law you can have it refunded or replaced with a model that is 5G ready.

If not, you have no choice but to buy a seperate new unit. I recommend you get either a Note 20 Ultra 5G/S20 FE/S21 Ultra 5G as those units are guaranteed as 5G ready.

4G/LTE still remains the standard in the Philippines. However, 5G services are only available in certain cities in the Philippines that currently has 5G coverage.

I agree, but globe issued a statement that 80% of NCR has 5G coverage. So i think in the near future 5G will be the mainstream.

No you can't buy 5G-capable S20 and S20+ from authorized resellers here in PH. The 5G is reserved for the Snapdragon variants and the S20 Ultra(both Exynos and Snapdragon).
