Dear Samsung,

I hope this writing reaches you.

I am really liking the detail enhancer when taking pics especially of people's faces. It brings out the more natural look of everyone at least in my perspective. Is there a chance you'll include the detail enhancer in the expert raw in the next update? Or just with any camera mode especially when the flash is activated? I just wish I can achieve the same quality I get with a natural light when using flash. When I'm using flash, it takes picture of everyone looking so gloomy and haggard. But with natural lighting and detail enhancer on, the photos look superb. And please make the processing quicker. It just takes a lot of time. The camera module of this unit is truly a beast but it is just lacking with the software. I am using the exynos variant btw.

See the difference? The flash looks so... idk how to describe it but yeah i prefer the bottom picture just coz it looks so much better. I just hope the processing looks better with the upcoming update.

Great suggestions, Tianngyen! A note about post-processing speed - that's tied to your processor, and typically software updates can't really make a processor go faster. That said -- have you visited a Samsung Experience Store lately? There's quite a lot of improvements between your S21U and the current S24 Series - I think you'd really enjoy them!

Sadly, I haven't visited any samsung store lately. Even if I wanted to upgrade, I don't have the money to do so. It just really bugs me when I see a comparison between this device and apple's iphone 12 pro max. This device's camera module clearly wins in terms of hardware. But when photos and videos are taken, the processing always looks better in the iphone. While there are ways to bring out the most of this device, we just don't wanna go through all that just to match the other. We just want to take photos, and the photos will look great as is without us feeling the need to edit them on lightroom. While the expert raw provides flexibility, common folks like us just don't want to go through all that.

Quick question: Why have you stopped using tizen os anyway?
Apple devices have such good performances even with such outdated processors like a12 bionic just coz they have their own os, right? You guys already tried that, but why haven't you done that with flagships?

Sorry for this seemingly ignorant question.

That's okay, but the answer to your question is well above my pay grade 😅

But if I had to guess, it's because Android is what our customers prefer. Developing an internal OS comes with its own costs and risks, and it's really hard to get people to switch to a new OS -- let alone get developers to create useful apps that people want to use for that OS.

It's a matter of practicality, and ensures that any Android device can enjoy near-seamless connectivity with any Galaxy device (Quick share being one clear reason). Of course, that also makes it easier for other Android users to switch 😉

Ahh that's all so complicated. If samsung just did it with their own os from the start, maybe it would have turned out amazing, but I guess it is what it is. Samsung smartphones will forever be held back by google's android. We may never see the full potential of each samsung smartphone. Very sad.
