S22 ultra one ui 6, android 14 update

Hi I was just wondering wondering when the new major update would release for my phone. There were tons of stuff saying it would come out a while ago and I know ppl overseas that already have it on their phone which is exactly the same to mine.

Just wondering why it's taking so long to update and when would I get mine updated.

Totally agree. I use my S22 Ultra for medical reasons (continuous glucose monitoring for one). And also for android development. I find it incomprehensible that Samsung are ignoring flagship models in favour of lower cost models. No more Samsung for me.

In another post I pointed out that there could be a variety of reasons for variable timing of updates. Note that like many here, I am just another user pointing out possibilities.

Set out below is an extract from that post.
Some additional considerations relating to priorities for the timing of updates for flagship models:
1. Flagship models have additional software making the job more complex in terms of resolving glitches.
2. This includes totally new software not available to lower tier models. Cross-testing between updated existing software and new software is more complex. Some new software has very few users so beta testing may be inadequate.
3. I don't know how much testing is done relating to current Play Store apps, many of which vary in design from country to country e.g. date format is a simple example.

"Beta programs, I think someone said eight countries have them. So Samsung management would obviously roll these out to large countries to get maximum feedback with minimum complexibility.
Who first for rollouts? Various priorities might apply
1. Population size. One country list has Australia as 54 out of 195. Or sales volume by country.
2. English speaking because that is the primary language for a large group of countries.
3. Practical factors covering the same model in several countries, like Europe
4. Special factors like Australia's choice of some non-standard 5G bands."

Bottom-line, a botched AF update rollout that went totally against the expected order of most recent to old lineup. Next year I expect the S22 to get the 7.0 update before the S23. I have had numerous disappointments from Samsung and this is just another reason to never invest in Samsung products. Only Samsung is able to monumentally screw up an update rollout like this.

My partners s21 ultra received the update 3 days ago, my s22 ultra hasn't had an update since November 2023.
