S23 can't find printer.

Hi all: I've got an HP 2131 printer that I'd like to connect up with my s23.

I've downloaded the HP software needed but when I choose HP PRINT SERVICE as my printer my s23 can't find it. I've got a data cable hooked up between my laptop and my s23.

But this is the only message I get:

Any ideas as to why it can't locate my printer? I don't have wifi, only data, btw..

Is the printer also connected to the same network? If you're using data the device should also be connected to your hotspot. Otherwise, it won't be able to find the printer, as printers are connected locally.

Not sure about the network..how would I go about finding what network - if any - the printer is connected to?
I tried using the hotspot but when the system went to look for the printer I got a message telling me to turn off hotspot first. So...I'm baffled.

That printer doesn't actually have wifi printing capability. Nor do they have mobile printing.

So unfortunately your phone won't be able to print using this specific printer you have.
