Please help me. How can I remove the background auto-blurry thing even in PHOTO > X1 mode and not in PORTRAIT MODE. Sometimes I want my picture to be cleared all the way to the ends of the resolution and not have a blurry background (default bokeh mode). You know, it's S23 series. I'm really expecting more.

I really feel that I encountered that 2-circled feature here in S23 before the update. But okay and thank you still for trying to help me.

I went to a Samsung store and looked for S23 series and compared them all. It's really a fact that only Ultras have that close-shot enhancement icon. Case closed.

Even the S23+ doesn't have such an icon.20230824_175240_1000002844_1692870763.jpg

Update: I can only improve the picture and make it less-blurry by using EXPERT RAW or PRO mode. But of course, it's time and energy consuming.

Hi samsydneyss! We see and understand the issue at hand. However, this happens because the Galaxy S23 comes with a bright and wide aperture lens which can lead to a relatively narrow band of sharp focus.

For now, you can combat this by using your device's Ultra Wide lens or capturing subjects with a distance of at least 30 cm or at least a hand away from your camera. 📷  Thank you for your patience as our developers craft a fix to this! 😊

Hi Samsydneyss,

I'm assuming you don't want the bokeh effect when taking photos of your notes?

That bokeh effect likely comes from your camera trying to focus on one specific subject, as it's way too close.

I took a picture of my notebook (using a Galaxy S20) with some tips on how to best capture notes on camera. Hope this helps!

Yes. That was really my intention. To take my notes in an angle with a close shot.

In my old $ 285 phone, I can take a picture even if it's close and at an angle, it's still clear. So I expected the S23 to do the same.

The auto-bokeh feature really hinders close shots. I would have liked the one even if it was at an angle and then a close shot, and there would be no blurry part.

It seems that the only thing off is that its mid-point is too small and it just bokeh everything around.

But when in top-down angles, yes it's clear.

Thank you for trying to help me!

Oooh, I think I'm getting a clearer picture of what you mean, and I think EllisKai might have the fix: The camera focus assist - Samsung Members
